Medical device
When you fall asleep, the muscles and soft tissues of the palate and uvula relax, causing a narrowing of the Breathing passages.
Snoring, which occurs during Sleep, is a noise produced during inspiration. It is the result of a vibration caused by the passage of air through tissues that have relaxed.
What solution is there to improve airflow and help stop snoring?
The mouthpiece is a medical device designed to reduce snoring and provide restful sleep thanks to its mechanical action on the throat, clearing the pharynx and promoting the passage of air.
By holding the lower jaw in a slightly forward position (a few millimetres), the airways open up, allowing inspired air to pass through. The mouthpiece is adaptable thanks to the various flexible Strips supplied.
For regular, continuous use (every night) over a long period, we recommend the use of a Quies mandibular advancement orthosis.
The Quies anti-snoring mouthpiece is easy to use for people who are prone to snoring.
The Quies anti-snoring mouthpiece moves the lower jaw forward a few millimetres, clearing the pharynx and freeing the passage of inspired air. This reduces snoring and helps you get a good night's sleep. Four different-sized flexible Strips are available, so you can adjust the mouthpiece to suit your individual needs.
How to use it
Before going to bed, fold the mouthpiece and place it in the mouth with the adjustment Strip over the upper teeth. If necessary, cut off the lower guide if it hurts the gums.
4 flexible adjustment Strips numbered 0, 2, 4 and 6 are supplied. This number represents the advancement, in millimetres, of the lower jaw compared with the normal position without the appliance. Depending on the morphology of the teeth, the actual advancement value may vary. Strip No. 0 is the weakest and Strip No. 6 is the strongest. Try Strip 2 first.
If necessary, change the Strip according to the following criteria:
-If the jaw pull is too strong or uncomfortable, or if the mouthpiece does not hold in the mouth, use a lower value Strip (e.g. 2 instead of 4). Depending on the morphology of the teeth, the appliance may not fit in the mouth even when the strip is changed, in which case it is unusable.
-If snoring is not reduced sufficiently, use a higher value Strip (e.g. 4 instead of 2).
