Coalgan® COMPRESS is used in Children, adults and pregnant women and is recommended for patients with congenital haemostasis disorders (Rendu-Osler, von Willebrand, haemophilia) or acquired haemostasis disorders (on anti-platelet agents, anti-vitamin K or heparins). Persistent bleeding requires medical advice.
> Stops bleeding quickly: calcium alginate promotes platelet aggregation and reduces clotting time.
> Promotes healing: calcium alginate stimulates the key cells involved in healing, activating defences against micro-organisms and bacteria. This reduces the risk of Dermatology complications.
> Soothes the sensation of pain: on contact with the wound, the calcium alginate fibres gel to allow pain-free removal.
How to use it
BLEEDING FROM SUPERFICIAL WOUNDS NOSEBLEED
Clean the wound with water and soap or saline (0.9% NaCl).
Maintain Coalgan® COMPRESS on the lesion by applying gentle pressure for 2-3 minutes (if necessary with the help of an adhesive) until the bleeding stops.
On removal, any remaining fibres are eliminated naturally.
Tilt your head forward and blow your nose to remove any clots. Roll the Coalgan® COMPRESS widthways to form a compact wick (the compress may be impregnated with 0.9% NaCl saline to improve insertion).
Insert the compress into the nostril and pinch the nose for 10 minutes. Leave the compress in place for 30 minutes.
