Agrimony: the Bach flower for sincerity
Agrimony, or agrimony in English, is a perennial plant whose phytotherapeutic virtues have been known since Antiquity. Known by some as "Saint-Guillaume's herb", "Greek eupatorium" or "Northern tea", this species belongs to the genus Agrimonia and the large Rosaceae family and grows in Europe and Asia. It is found at the edges of forests, on wasteland and along paths and tracks, where it flourishes easily, reaching heights of 40-80 cm.
Agrimony flowers in summer (June to September), when it is harvested. Made up of hairy, reddish stems, it can be recognised by its serrated leaves, on which small yellow flowers with five petals grouped in spikes grow. Preferring solitary spaces to close proximity to other plants, it is particularly fond of sunny, dry environments. Its stems move during the day to follow the movement of the Sun, sometimes giving the impression of seeking the company of walkers.
